Automated model for identification on mastoid of temporal bone image

Mastoiditis occurs due to inflammation that can affect the structure of mastoid bone. The bone consists air cell system (MACS) which protects ear structures and regulates pressure in has different sizes characteristics, making it very difficult identify precisely. This study aims find right MACS size by developing an automatic identification model obtaining optimal threshold value segmentation process using extended adaptive (eAT) method. research dataset uses computed tomography (CT)-scan images 308 slices 12 patients indicated for mastoiditis. results this provide accuracy size. Overall, obtained smallest 57 largest 63, is 4.025 cm2 8.816 with rate 93.4%. smaller indicates area these require more intensive treatment.
